I encourage you to browse our pages to learn more about our chapter and the core values our organization holds dear: friendship, integrity, honesty, service, commitment, and family relationships. Since our chartering in November 2009, the dedicated members of the Camellia Rose Chapter have worked tirelessly to empower women and youth, promote healthy lifestyles amongst children, encourage art appreciation, and introduce different cultures through volunteer service.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of over 15,000 professional women of color in 288 chapters located in 42 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the United Kingdom. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
The Links, Incorporated was established by the original circle of nine friends in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With over 2 million service hours recorded in the past three years, members regularly contribute more than 500,000 documented service hours in their respective communities annually. The outstanding programming of The Links, Incorporated has five facets which include Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. The programs are implemented through strategies such as public information and education, economic development, and public policy campaigns.
Collectively, the Links of Camellia Rose have given thousands of hours in volunteer service in support of our facet programs. We are especially proud of our partnership with Jean Childs Young Middle School, where we implemented our signature Youth Empowerment program. We are now in the process of expanding our Empowerment program to include women.
As you navigate our website, I invite you to learn about our civic and community initiatives. Please also consider partnering with us as we continue to commit our time, energies and resources to enhancing the quality of life for the greater community.
